Check out the cool picture I took! Can you tell which way is up?
My roommates and I went to Roosevelt Island for a birthday picnic (two of my roommates have their birthday on the same day!), and I took this while leaning over backwards. So the “sky” is actually the water of the reflecting pool. You can see two pink rose petals floating in the water in the upper right corner. In retrospect I guess I didn’t have to hang upside down to take this, but its more fun that way!
Last night was a DC favorite, Screen on the Green. For Screen on the Green a huge projection screen is set up right in the middle of the Mall, so you can see the Capitol straight ahead and the Washington Monument is behind. It is so much fun! Last night they were showing It Happened One Night, which is one of my family’s all time favorite movies ever! You’ll get the gist of it from the clip here:
And it was the perfect evening for a movie! Not to hot! Lot’s of good food! Tons of fun!
I love it when it snows! Hate the cold, love snow. I am truly a confused spirit. Anyway, in my excitement I tried to take a picture through the window when it started to flurry – which didn’t work. Isn’t it funny how when you are exciting about something you forget about practical things, like if you try to take a picture out a window with lights behind you, you really aren’t going to capture anything outside? The only snowflake I captured was the one hanging behind me in the hallway.
Sorry for the infrequent posts, its been a busy around here the past week. Busy, but fun! But not so busy I wasn’t able to snap a few pictures. . . here my is favorite from the past few days.
And my most favorite picture would be the one I didn’t take (I didn’t feel like obscuring my view with a camera) of my adorable, new nephew–he has jet black hair that sticks straight up.
