Sorry for the lack of posting! The past two weeks have been so crazy – crazy fun that it is! Two weddings, baseball games, parties, ballet classes, horseback riding, visiting with friends and family, rooftop bars, beautiful weather, football games, hat wearing, choir concerts and so on and so forth. Not to mention the normal mundane stuff like, laundry and paying bills. But this week is leveling out a bit, so hopefully I will be more consistent! Toodles!

I was in a wedding recently, it was a beautiful, fun wedding. The bridesmaids wore shades of misty green. The bride looked like a Grecian goddess. It was amazing.
But the picture I snapped above is one of my favorite moments from the whole weekend. It’s the flower girl, busting a move or two while the adults listened to the wedding planner explain the march down the aisle processes. All the while the flower girl was doing pirouettes, high kicks, windmill arms, and otherwise completely rejoicing in the fact that her skirt twirled. She wasn’t being loud or disruptive. She was just dancing for joy.
Remember the cute tent invitations for a bridal shower for my friend? Well here is the result!
I made little ‘Smore packages for favors, I lucked out that Valentines is around the corner, there were heart-shaped marshmallows! (I am not sure why I took a picture with the tag and bow backwards. Go figure.) I wish my computer was being more cooperative with the pictures, I wasn’t able to post my crepe paper masterpiece in the living room. Maybe I’ll save that one for a rainy day.
The cake is has a browned butter frosting, something I would suggest to give your buttercream frosting a little kick. All you do is brown the butter the night before, let it cool, and then make your buttercream as usual (but be sure to give the butter a good whip before you start adding sugar). The browning gives the butter a lovely carmelized taste. So good. . .
I am off to a bridal shower in a little bit! I love these parties, in fact, any party that involves chatter and fun conversation is brilliant in my book!
I tend to steer clear of the normal gifts though, I like to bring something that is more personal than a salad bowl. Some ideas? Flowers are always a great idea! A lovely bouquet will be appreciated by any bride to be. If something pretty and blue is to be had it can make a good present too! A small blue pin, hairpin, purse, shoe clip. Or something lovely for the new home! A beautiful vase or picture is always appreciated. Better yet! If you have already received your invite to the wedding, have it framed and give it to the bride! Save the electric mixer gift for the actual wedding and bring something more personal to the shower!

If I were a bride, I would be ecstatic to receive a pair of these earring at my shower. Lilyja has many more beautiful items that could work too!
