A week or two ago I found a treasure at a bookshop in Annapolis, MD: a book of Irish fairy tales illustrated by Arthur Rackham. If you are not familiar with Rackham’s prints and illustrations, I suggest you find some of his work now. He illustrated a book of Grimm’s fairy tales and I am dying to get my hands on a copy. He has also illustrated copies of Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and the Wind in the Willows. I love the willowy, airy quality his art has, it floats on the page the same way images float in your imagination when you are reading.
